The Fiction Story: Something the Lord Made continues…

I know its been awhile, but here is the NEXT Chapter in Something the Lord Made continues;

Chapter: Fighting Bullies

It was half past midnight on a cold dreary wet night and Avrila is now 10 years old sitting in the park next to the apartment. Apelarto is resting on the trees gazing at the stars. Avrila has developed her skills more and learning much about her past. As she moves forward, she realizes why she has these psychic abilities that she recognized 5 years earlier.

As Avrila sits on the ground meditating, her brother gazing at the stars lying next to a tree, she suddenly gets up. Apelarto whispers to Avrila “We better get moving now I feel there is a group of teenagers approaching us now who look like trouble.”

Avrila holds her hand out to her brother saying “Stop right there, we are staying here until they come.”

“What? Avrila, we have to get moving now because mother is getting worried about us.” says Apelarto

Avrila warns him once again to stay with her because their friend Kelvin is in trouble.

The group of boys approach the area where the two siblings are and held captive by them is the siblings friend since Kindergarten. Avrila gets up to approach the boys when one of the boys takes out a bat pointing at Avrila.

The boy with the bat says to Avrila “What are you going to do now? You want to try to save your boyfriend.”

Avrila says “I am not afraid of you and will not let you do any harm to my friend.”

“Ohhhhh, I see, you are his girlfriend.” says the leading boy with the bat

“Let go of him now or you will regret every moment of this in the future!!!” commands Avrila

The leading boy holding the bat, lifts the bat up and hits Kelvin in the hand breaking it. The gang of boys run away and little Kelvin is weeping in pain.

Avrila yells out as the boys are laughing “He’s Autistic, you bunch of morons, Get a Life and understand other people. I told all of you, you boys will regret this and every one of you will!!”

Avrila grabs her friend by the shoulder and lifts his cold body up as Apelarto runs over to call 911 emergency. Avrila begins crying trying to calm her friend down. Just before the police arrive on scene, a miracle happens. Apelarto notices Kelvin’s hand turning blue and wiping his hands together little Kelvin feels a fiery white smoke over his hand. After the white fiery smoke disappears, Kelvin’s hand is mended and only looks like a bruise. However, Avrila is lying on the ground seeking help from the ambulance because she is short of breath with Apelarto standing there trying to finish healing Kelvin.

When Avrila is brought to the nearest hospital in the Bronx, the doctors finish examining her noticing she only had a panic attack. The police bring Kelvin back home to his parents and the mother is grateful he was finally found after 12 hours of worrying. When Avrila and Apelarto walk through the door their mother wraps her arms around both of them then spanks Avrila in her back telling her not to get her so worried like that anymore. But Avrila reassures her stepmother that she was looking out for her friend Kelvin who was missing for hours. Apelarto never says anything about his healing powers to his mother and goes to bed at 11 o’clock in the morning…

Later that week, Avrila sits on her bed thinking about how to empower her friend Kelvin to live a well deserved life as Apelarto is resting on his bed. Her friend is very talented in the arts and loves to build things. She worries her friend needs lessons in speaking up at the right moments for himself and believes it is long overdue… If only Kelvin knew how to assert himself and not let every one push and victimize him. Avrila wants to help him so desperately build his confidence so that she can move on. As Avrila sits, she begins lying down paralyzed to her bed for the next few hours. She gazes through the sky flying through the air when she sees her friend Kelvin being comforted by his mother. Kelvin’s empowerment of himself starts now with the love of his mom and the love from his friend, Avrila watching him through the window. A few hours later, Avrila gets up off the bed at 5 o’clock in the evening smiling as she gets ready to eat with the family.

She walks in to the dining room with a smile and her stepmom, Camille says “C’mon Hon, Let’s eat!!” They eat their food while her friend Kelvin builds his confidence in a martial arts class his mother signed him up for.

Something the Lord Made

Chapter: An Echo of Life

Avrila walks through the door of her mother’s room standing there gazing at Camille wondering when her mom will wake up any time soon. Avrila usually stays in her room when she wakes up and consoles herself with her psychic abilities, but today she is feeling like she needs some comfort. She stands there for about 15 minutes when Camille finally wakes up and her husband Rafael is still sleeping.

Camille slowly gets out of bed and walks over to Avrila. She whispers “What’s the matter my sweet?”
Avrila does not say anything. Instead she takes Camille’s hand and walks her through apartment to the kitchen.
Camille says in a whisper still “Avrila, its 4 o’clock in the morning, what do you want from me now?”
And standing in the midst of the darkness of the apartment is her latest friend, the lonely boy from school who is Autistic, Kelvin.
Camille says “Oh my god, What happened to you little boy?”
Kelvin does not answer
Avrila begins speaking telling her mother “My friend Kelvin has been having problems at home. His father walked out on his mother and I found Kelvin wandering in our park outside our apartment building. I told him he can stay here tonight and we will bring him back to his mom who must be really worried now.”
Camille tells Avrila “I understand you want to help your friend out, but we have to bring him back to his mother now because she is probably very worried about him.”
Avrila says “I have been reading much about Autism lately since I learned of my new friend Kelvin.” and then she says “And I went on father’s computer typed in to google search ‘Autistic’ and found the Autistic Self Advocacy Network which gave me much information about what I wanted to know, but I can’t read everything. I was wondering if you can help me read the information with me.”
Camille whispers again “Really? School has really taught you much about the computer so far?”
Avrila then says “Yes it has, though I sound out every word, but much of what is said on the website I found, I don’t really understand.”
Camille says “Show me and I can help you.”

The amazing fiction story of ‘Something the Lord Made’ continues…

Meeting a Special friend episode…

Avrila sits on the side of her bed waiting for her stepmother, Camille to call her in for breakfast to leave for school. She sits there thinking about the day before when she first revealed her secret to her new parents. She is wondering what every one is going to say about the secret she has and does not want to be known as the crazy one. Apelarto walks in to the room with his bookbag on his back and his lunchbag in one hand and a very special gold notebook with his drawings. He yells out to Avrila, “Hey Avrila, Come along, we don’t want to be late for the school bus now.”
Avrila replies back, “Wait a minute for me Apelarto, I have to get my things and my lunch too.” But before she could do that Camille says “Don’t forget your breakfast, Avrila! Breakfast is the most important part of the day…”
Avrila takes a couple of spoonfuls of her oatmeal and runs out the door. “I’ll take this bagel out the door” says Avrila. Camille yells out “Don’t make that a habit!”

Avrila runs out the door with her brother and get on the schoolbus as quickly as they could. Camille smiles and looks the other way not realizing today could change their lives again….

In the middle of class during Kindergarten recess, Avrila walks up to a lonely little boy named Kelvin. The teacher walks up to Avrila telling at the young girl not to go near that boy. Avrila walks up anyway and Kelvin becomes startled flairing his hands up in to the air and screaming. The teacher pushes Avrila out of the way trying to control Kelvin’s actions by twisting his arm and throwing him to the ground. Avrila yells at the teacher “That is not how you treat a human being, he is very sensitive and is decent friend of mine.” Avrila takes the chalk from the chalkboard and writes on the wall, ‘Mrs. Freeman is a ABUSER!’

Mrs. Freeman the Kindergarten teacher stops and drops Kelvin on the floor and slaps Avrila in the face. Avrila yells out “YOU should go to Jail, Mrs. Freeman! Kelvin is my friend.”

Mrs. Freeman begins to cry saying to Avrila, “But Kelvin is Autistic!!”

Avrila says “I know he is Autistic and that is why he is my friend. Don’t you dare touch my friend again or I’ll swipe you with this (she picks up a wooden rod to slap Mrs. Freeman).”

Avrila walks up to Kelvin and lifts him up with her hands and hugs him. She says “You are such a sweetie Kelvin, I know you can hear me. I’ll squeeze more.” She instantly squeezes Kelvin more and Kelvin feels the intense pressure which makes him feel better than softer touch.

Avrila has to go to the principal’s office now and explains to the prinipal what had happened. She explains that she knew Kelvin is Autistic and knew how to treat him well because she is a psychic child and knows how to help people. In the meantime while Avrila explains every thing to the Principal, Apelarto runs around looking for Avrila in the classroom and instantly sees her aura rubbed off on lonely Kelvin who has Autism. Before he realizes she is in the principal’s office Apelarto walks over to Kelvin. “Hey there, what is going on with you?” But, Kelvin does not speak. So, Apelarto notices Kelvin’s aura is changing rapidly to sad and angry colors. “It’s alright Kelvin, I am going to find my sister.” Kelvin sits there crying now.

Apelarto walks to the door and Avrila walks in to the room with the Principal who now is inspired by Avrila. The principal walks in and says to the class, “I will be taking over the class for the rest of the week until we find someone who will. Mrs. Freeman is not coming back.”

Kelvin smiled for the first time and clapping his hands very loudly laughing and yelling out repeated words ‘Gip Gip Gip’, but no one knew what it meant. He just looked excited.

When school was let out, Avrila and Apelarto walked their new friend home to his family. The mother was ecstatic her little boy Kelvin had friends. Avrila told his mother that the wicked teacher is gone. The mother was happy to hear the story of what happened and knowing after months of not realizing that the teacher is the one who was abusing her little boy.

Avrila and Apelarto walk out of the home of their new friend and his family skipping and jumping down the stairs. When they enter through the doors to the outside, Avrila and Apelarto march on the next few blocks until they reach their apartment building. They walk through the apartment building doors and see their Mother, Camille smiling at them so happy to see her lovely special children. Avrila screams with excitement telling Camille everything while Apelarto watches her color change to a bright blue and the mother so pink in the face. When they reach the apartment, the three of them walk in to the kitchen only to see the Grandfather hanging from the lantern in the kitchen from a wired noose. Camille starts screaming in agony and tears rolling down her face. No else is home yet and she begins to feel guilt ridden leaving her depressed father alone in the apartment. Avrila stops instantly with her jittering excited feeling to tell her mom that he missed grandma too much while Apelarto can feel his mom’s aching pain in his body. He moves away from his mom to go to his room as he sits on the carpet in silence while Avrila is comforting their mother.

In terms of endearment: The fiction story of Avrila and Apelarto continue

Sitting on a curb off the streets of the Bronx, a young boy stares at the many cars which pass by him. The people who walk by look down at Apelarto splashing water on his face as he does not move or make a sound. He just continues to observe the many cars driving down its bustling concourse. Once he decides to get up finally, his jacket soaked in water from people stepping in a puddle splashing the rest of the water on him, he begins to walk forward toward the sidewalk. He sees his older siblings walking back home after school. His brother yells out “Hey Ap, what happened to you? You looked soaked! Why were you sitting on that curb again?” Apelarto just ignored him and stared in to his face, then his brother says “What are you deaf? Did you hear me?” His siblings begin poking fun at their weird youngest brother. Apelarto walks the other direction where he sees his adopted sister Avrila walking with his mother Camille. Camille had just walked Avrila to the local grocery store. When she sees her son all wet, she becomes enraged saying “Oh great, now you need to take a bath. You look filthy!” Avrila seems to be staring in to space when she says her first word she ever spoke to her new mom since she’s been here, “There’s a old lady walking over to us and she is crying. She says ‘she knows she made mistakes and is sorry she broke the dishes.” Camille looks in that direction, but sees nothing. She begins to feel scared that her new adopted daughter and son are crazy.

However, when they get back to the apartment, she sees her mother lying dead on the floor with broken dishes splattered everywhere. Camille begins weeping with a river of tears. Avrila runs to her room and says nothing more. Apelarto notices her mother is very upset and gives her a big hug. As he hugs his mother, his mom feels better because her youngest son never did that before. As soon as her son let’s go, Camille runs to call 911 to report the unexpected death of her mom who must of had a heart attack. Her father is in his room crying because he just lost the love of his life. Camille walks in to the room to ask her father “how long since she passed?” The father slowly tells her “Only about five minutes before you came in to the apartment.” 5 minutes ago Avrila told Camille that she saw an old lady telling her about dishes being broken. Camille could not see any woman walking down the street before. She begins to weep harder and her father slowly asks his daughter, “What’s the matter? Give me a hug my princess.” Avrila walks through the grandfather’s bedroom door hugging her new mom and grandfather. She whispers in their ears “I love you.” Apelarto sees this through the doorway and smiles. Avrila who can see her brother smiling back let’s go of her grandfather and mother to give her brother a hug too. As the two strange siblings walk back to their bedroom, they feel proud of how they handled the situation. They have been seeing the two therapists for about 3 weeks and they know how to handle themselves better.

Two weeks later after the funeral of grandma, Avrila talks about the situation with the psychologist. The psychologist was proud of how Avrila handled the situation and how she does not seem to be crazy to her mom as she was before. Avrila had taken a moment to tell her mom her secret without feeling saddened and speechless by it. Apelarto spoke to the psychologist separately who is trying to help him be aware of his feelings for others and knowing how to be successful as a healer.
