A Poem called “Tailspin within the Mind”

Tailspin within the Mind,

by theamazinJ

My mind wanders,
I have things to do,
My mind wanders,
I want to accomplish a lot,
My mind wanders
and I cannot tell it stop,
My mind wanders in a tailspin
and I am struggling to
tell it to shut up
as I become more anxious by it,
My mind is beautiful
with so much ideas and brilliance
I cannot fathom,
My mind is great,
My mind just needs to
put down and out all the ideas
I have into the world
in the most constructive manner.
When putting a mind that wanders in a tailspin
and spins and spins and spins,
while anxiety soars and soars and soars,
does not provide productivity.
So, what do I do?
I spin in circles physically
over and over and over,
I flap with my hands physically
over and over and over,
I pace while doing this,
over and over and over,
I repeat a mantra
over and over and over,
I hug and desire more hugs
so deep and pressure based,
over and over and over,
until the tailspin in the mind
finally stops and settles
so I can be productive
and get the ideas and brilliance
into production
as I finally take it
one step of the way.
There is different ways to
there is different ways
everyone lives,
different ways to settle things,
and never ending for any one
who may not understand
someone who is different,
someone who is disabled
by default by society.
It takes a map,
It takes to write things down,
It takes are senses for some to stop
things that go on in the mind
that most just do without,
to think about the positive ways
we can do things,
and use our energy,
not bracing our energy.
Being disabled is okay,
being different is okay,
being who we are is okay,
being typical like most is okay,
and it takes experiencing others
to understand everyone
even when most don’t understand
those who are disabled by default
by society in society,
and some who are disabled
not understanding most
who are typical of
what society is,
so we need to get up,
we need to stand up for a cause,
and we need to have patience
for one another
and eventually
we all learn
we all experience positive outcomes
we all become a community
in the end,
while not tailspinning
out of control
into a world that foregoes
the deepest darkest pressures
we would like to forget,
so we can listen
to the secret
of our own mind.

A Poem called a “Humbling Heart”

Humbling Heart,

by theamazinJ

It’s humbling,
It’s my life,
It’s what I was always taught,
from the beginning when I was born
to the time I am alive right now,
I was born of a humbling heart.
I was taught to fight for my rights,
I was taught to never give up,
I was taught not to let anyone rent space in my head,
I was taught to be stronger than I actually am,
I was taught to speak up and say “Excuse Me” sometimes,
I was taught to be as self-sufficient as I possibly can,
I was taught to speak up about the supports I need
to get everyone to understand who I am, what I do, what I want, and what my needs are,
I was taught never to settle for anything,
Most importantly, I was taught about love
and the meaning of connecting with those who care about me,
I was taught than when I get hurt by any one,
to leave behind those who have caused me pain,
sometimes it can be hard to leave behind
because I have an innate sense of connection
with everyone to bring about peace, forgiveness, and honor.
Everyone deserves a chance to learn about love,
even those who cause pain.
Everyone may not understand love the way I was taught,
but I have that innate light to try anyway.
This may upset those others who care,
this may frustrate all the others about me.
My strength and determination is:
never hold a grudge,
never not love,
never give up on me,
never ever stop connecting,
never ever ever stop teaching about love
even if it takes a lifetime or
time at the other side to learn about the love
so many may not understand,
and love is:
genuinely not seeing things in black and white,
not being polarized,
being open minded to everyone,
forgiving all and everyone,
fighting for everyone’s civil rights no matter what
to live the life the way an individual citizen knows how,
love is letting go of all the pains we feel from the past,
and most importantly,
accepting everyone for what its worth,
love is incredibly amazing,
love is self-care,
love is for everyone to take responsibility without blaming others at any time
thinking about the pain you cause too,
love is understanding the different languages and ways to communicate
that you may not do, but need to learn to listen to,
love is about stimming and moving differently to show and express ourselves,
love is accepting and conversing with any one even when you disagree,
love is a journey for many to learn in a lifetime,
while some may learn a lot sooner than others,
love is not being angry at any one or situation,
love is not only loving certain people’s ideas and selves,
love is not fighting with violence with any one,
love is not cursing others, any one, or people who do things wrong,
and love is a spiritual calling
for ‘one for all and all for one’
to see the love we see in the mirror
every day,
love means not being jealous,
while love means supporting everyone
and listening to everyone
between their ideas and yours,
love means giving equal love to everyone
without giving more to another,
because in the end,
it’s all about the love
we have for each other
as part of the human race
and as a part of building community
around the world
interconnecting interrelatedly,
that’s all about love
and all about faith,
so let’s stop, think, and let go
to the boundless efforts of love
even if I am a disabled activist
in love with disability studies
and the social model,
and you may not be.

A poem about “Love”

by theamazinJ

Love is
being with everyone who cares
being with everyone who loves me back
sharing and spending time with everyone
without discouraging anyone
with lifting everyone up
and lifting family up too.
Relationships are a two way street
we share, we care, and we embrace
Love is
Love has no boundaries
when we want a hug or give a hug
when we want a kiss or give a kiss
when we want support or give support
when we find ourselves or embrace other’s identities
whatever we choose to be and who we are,
Love is
Love is
Love is incredibly connecting
Love is always there
as long as we don’t forget about it.
Love makes us argue
Love makes us fight
Love makes us find peace
Love makes us build our relationships
most importantly love is positive.
I love family
I love everyone who cares about me
I love feeling connected
Sometimes feeling connected
can drive me crazy.
I can feel too much emotions
I can feel
like I need love all the time
I can feel overwhelmed by love
and not sure how to handle the emotions,
and finally,
Love can make me feel:
sad with tears,
not sure how to respond,
all at once.
If I love,
I will love.
I love, I really do love.
I just need to take my time,
and once I do,
I will feel it well.
Love makes us patriotic
Love makes us want to fight
for civil rights for all.
Love is gracious,
while it is also
very very accepting
and very very very
humbling with a grateful heart,
Thank you all.

A poem called “A Tree in the Winds being Watched Over”

A Tree in the Winds Being Watched Over,

by theamazinJ

My future is approaching,
my youth is far in to the distant past,
my work is getting better and better,
I work to change,
I work to further the goals of Disabled People’s rights,
I work to bring acceptance,
I work to to bring about positive forward thinking,
I work within the winds of my branches
as I am watched over from above,
My life is good
because I work to change
little by little
the bigoted viewpoints of every day lives,
it is a tough life and a tough job,
but I am learning to relax
and think about the changes each day
slowly, but forward.
I work hard,
I work to bring about change,
I work hard,
I work to create a better community
and make others realize
what community actually means,
not what they think it means
from a selfish standpoint.
The bigoted world is turning slowly
to the accepted world of the future.
The acceptance of the human genome
just the way it was made
just the way it is,
to accept the mutations,
to accept the births with the genes,
to accept the person for who we all create,
from the births we get a person,
and from a person,
we get new creative, inventive ideas
that no one has ever thought of before.
From a birth of a person:
We get,
a new mind,
a new body,
a combined soul,
a greater depth from thou up in the distance,
Thou up in the distance is great,
thou up in the distance knows what they are doing,
thou up in the distance is something we have known before
when we were up there with them.
They are in between,
they are inside of us all,
they are watching over us,
and they are here,
and they are there,
and they help us carry our message to the whole world;
they are thou, they are them,
they are everywhere.
As this new year has come about
and we reflect on them, us, and
the everything in between,
we can just say this:
I am Thou, I am you.
I am Thou, I am you.
I am the amazing.
Because we are here
to send out our messages,
and we are here to help,
and we are here to change things from the past,
and we are here to move forward with respect,
and we are here to lift up
to say in one final message one day in our life:
I am done and can move on…

The Story of a Boy I knew Sixteen years ago…

(In my next post, I will let everyone know who this Boy was Sixteen years ago)

Sixteen years ago or so there lived a boy in a home in the countryside. He was very quirky, thoughtful, positive, stubborn, and very smart. It was 1997. The boy was first graduating from High School. He had many multi-sensory issues and loved being alone in his room with his own thoughts. He loved creating scenes of different ideas he came up with. He had a beautifully intelligent and creative mind. No one really understood him. The professionals did not really know what made him different from the rest of the world. Whatever professionals he saw, thought he seemed different, but they could not figure exactly what was different about him.

After this boy graduated from High School, he wanted to go away for college, and so he did. He went to a college off from a beach and loved the amazing views. He thought he wanted one major in college, not realizing it was not the major for him. However, he declared his major and struggled studying within that major. He always had a love for helping and a love for expressing his creativity. There are two directions you can choose; the road most suitable for you or the road less traveled, however he chose the road less traveled to begin his life.

The boy was always creative throughout his childhood. He spent most of his time in the basement of the family house, creating and expressing himself by visualizing scenes in his mind either writing it down or sketching on pads. He wrote many stories and painted. Though he never really kept these creative activities from his childhood once he became an adult. He only wanted to help people. He had a passion to be helpful in any way he can. He grew to be very humble and in a lot of ways too humble for society. This pushed people to take advantage of his humility.

Finally, his difference was addressed by a professional who told him he was on the Autistic spectrum in which he labeled him with Asperger’s syndrome. Later, this person would identify himself as Autistic to show that it does not matter what label a professional gives you, that you can converse with anyone. He started expressing how Autistic culture exists and how we have many ways to identify ourselves as, that identity first language makes better sense and should be accepted. People in this world need to converse to help anyone. He became an activist with a passion to not let anyone with a disability be treated like any less of a person. Instead of following in others’ lead, he decided to lead himself toward his goals toward acceptance and leading people to understand why interdependence is so important for everyone. He cries for the people who are totally dependent on their circumstances in life and only wants them to get to a point where they, too, can follow their dreams to be interdependent. When he hears people say I want my independence, he listens to them as he speaks louder by saying how all Human beings need both independence and support from others because we all need to support each other at some point. He stresses to Neurotypical people this very fact that no matter who you are everyone needs to be apart and comforted at the same time.

He follows his own lead and tries not to think about what others care about what he is doing. However, he gets criticized by others anyway. He tells himself all the time, ‘I don’t care what you have to say, I am being the leader I want to be to follow my heart’. While looking for a job that will pay him well, he starts to may be consider opening up his own business where he can help people to start living their life without other people’s influence and always be self-determined to live a life of their choosing to build a positive society. Though it would take careful planning to do that.

He always was told to fuel himself so that no one takes advantage of his good nature so he can live the dream he always wanted. This boy who is now a man, sixteen years later, is always trying to remember this. Though it is hard and that is why people have gotten away with it in the past. He met a friend a few years back who is very similar, was once told by one of his family members to always stay strong. When either of these two friends see each other they converse to each other to stay strong after they meet. In the meantime, the boy who was a boy sixteen years ago created a motto from his life to always move forward without looking back. He created his own action heroes too. As of now, the boy who is now a man, has many more goals he wants to accomplish in his life. Although he is still considered to be young with many goals, he has a lot of drive to change the world and be successful!
